Job Description


Our client, a prominent utilities organisation, is in search of a Procurement Manager specialising in Marketing and Professional Services to become an integral part of their expanding team.

Reporting and Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Head of Procurement, you\'ll be a vital member of the Procurement senior management team, dedicated to catalysing change, achieving outcomes, and setting exemplary standards across the team. Your role involves the strategic management of sourcing in both marketing (media buying, direct marketing, creative & content production, sponsorships & PR) and professional services (consultancy, professional services, people services, and travel). With support from two direct reports, you\'ll master the art of stakeholder management, ensuring the supply chain aligns seamlessly with business strategy and objectives.

Key Objectives:

  • Lead the development of a capable and motivated team.
  • Utilise data to create and maintain an insightful perspective on category spend and suppliers.
  • Develop category strategies that mitigate market risks and maximise value.
  • Devise negotiation strategies and engage stakeholders when required.
  • Spearhead significant commercial initiatives, presenting them to senior management.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Supplier Management team to cultivate successful supplier strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and processes across relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive enhancements in commercial value, process efficiency, and risk management.
  • Champion continual improvement in procurement processes while managing change with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the overarching Plan Zero objectives and demonstrate your team\'s role in the strategic framework.
Requirements and Qualities:
  • MCIPS qualification or working towards it (preferred).
  • A curious and proactive self-starter with a commitment to category output.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years\' experience in a senior procurement role.
  • A proven negotiator with a track record of delivering substantial commercial benefits.
  • Customer-centric approach with experience interacting with C-level stakeholders.
  • Well-versed in a range of marketing subcategories (Professional Services an advantage)..
  • Exposure to the energy sector (beneficial but not essential).
