Hear Me! Project

DSN is a modern, dynamic charity providing a wide range of support services related to sensory loss for people across Flintshire, Wrexham, and Cheshire. We manage the 'Hear Me!' project with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund Walesto provide bespoke communication and support services to families with a D/deaf child in their home in Flintshire. Core support of this project will offer 1:1 sessions, family events and group activities, which will be tailored to the D/deaf child or young person to ensure a range of positive outcomes. The Project team will also promote improved Deaf Awareness in local communities.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner who can:

- Communicate well with children and families.

- Work independently in a demanding and rewarding role.

- Develop person-centred support.

This role will include ensuring that the needs of the D/deaf child are the heart of the project, and that children and young people experience positive differences including improved communication with their families, leading to increased confidence and independence. This job is on a fixed term contract until 29th February 2028 with travel across Flintshire and Wrexham - the use of a car is essential.

Senior Practitioner 30 hours per week 31,317 (pro-rata 25,393)

You will need experience of working directly with children and young people and families, experience of identifying and resolving problems and excellent interpersonal skills. You will be fully supported by an excellent programme of continuous training & development.
