Job Title: Senior Planning & Highways Lawyer
Salary: \xc2\xa357,000 - \xc2\xa360,000 per annum
Type: Permanent

Panoramic Associates have partnered up with one of local authority clients in the South East, who are looking to recruit a Senior Planning Solicitor to join their established legal team.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Planning lawyer to join a large legal department with interesting work & a very flexible working environment! It would also be a great opportunity for a Lawyer/Solicitor who has 3-5 years of experience within commercial law in the public sector who is now looking to take their next step up in their career to a senior role. Alternatively, if you\xe2\x80\x99re already working with a local authority at a senior level with a smaller authority and would be keen to take on the opportunity to work for a larger local authority and be part of a senior management team.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis however, there is great flexibility on offer within the team to work the majority of the time on a remote basis with only occasional office attendance being required. The salary on offer ranges between \xc2\xa357,000 - \xc2\xa360,000 per annum with scope for future pay increase in the coming year due to recent pay grade restructure within the authority.

The successful candidate will have conduct of Sec.106 planning agreements and advise on highways matters. There will also be opportunity to deputise for the Principal Planning Lawyer in the team and support junior Lawyers.

Main Responsibilities

• Handling a caseload of planning law matters including drafting s106 agreements
• Providing legal advice on a wide range of planning matters.
• Advising on highways matters
• Handling planning enforcement matters such as issuing planning enforcement notices.
• There is also opportunity to attend planning committees on behalf of the local authority on a rota basis.

An ideal candidate will consist the following skillset and attributes.

• 3-5+ years PQE as a Planning Lawyer
• Previous experience working within a local authority
• Strong knowledge and understanding of planning law
• Preferably previous experience advising on highways law
