Job Description

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a therapies-led respiratory service providing group exercise sessions and holistic health education to aid patients with long-term lung conditions self-manage their condition. These are delivered within hospital and leisure centre settings alongside a dedicated Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist.



We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work cooperatively as part of this friendly and proactive multi-disciplinary team to assist with carrying out Specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and follow-up on interventions, in addition to the provision of safe and evidenced-based exercise prescription within the class setting. This is a part-time post of 13 hours per week. The successful applicant will need to be able to work a full day on Thursdays in Bangor/Holyhead, with allocation of remining hours to be discussed at interview



The successful applicant will be supported with training and development opportunities, alongside competency completion and ongoing support from existing experienced staff.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.



To assist in completion of individual occupational therapy assessments, goals setting and treatment plans to improve activities of daily living for chronic lung patients.



Facilitate, monitor, and evaluate goal setting with patients to optimise their potential and promote self-management, considering the promotion of their physical and emotional wellbeing and disease prevention.



To be responsible for the safe & competent set-up and use of gym equipment, patient appliances and aids used by patients.



To assist in the delivery of group and individualised treatment programmes of rehabilitation, in hospital gyms and leisure centre settings



To be committed to their own professional and service development



Support takes the form of regular formal and informal training, supervision and feedback sessions. Access to advice and support from HPC registered occupational therapists and physiotherapists is available on a regular basis.



The role may involve travelling to and working across other hospital and community sites in support of service delivery.
