Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

to join our team and contribute to our success.

Role Overview



As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take a lead role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions. You will collaborate closely with clients, project teams, and other disciplines to ensure the successful execution of projects, from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities




Design Leadership: Produce detailed mechanical designs, including HVAC systems, plumbing, heating, and ventilation solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.


Project Management: Oversee the delivery of electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.


Collaboration: Work closely with clients, architects, and other engineers to develop tailored solutions that meet project requirements.


Technical Oversight: Review and approve designs, calculations, and specifications prepared by junior engineers and ensure quality assurance across all deliverables.


Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering their development and encouraging a collaborative team environment.


Sustainability: Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable design practices into project solutions.


Site Support: Attend project meetings and site visits to ensure alignment between design intent and on-site implementation.

Skills & Qualifications



Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent (Chartered Engineer status or working towards it preferred). Proven experience in electrical design within a consultancy or similar environment, including a strong portfolio of delivered projects. In-depth knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., CIBSE Guides, Building Regulations). Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and calculation tools (e.g., Hevacomp, IES). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead client meetings and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Commitment to sustainability and knowledge of renewable energy technologies is desirable.
