The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join our Commercial team.
This role leads the development and execution of Simbec-Orion's marketing and communication strategies, ensuring alignment with commercial goals and brand positioning. Reporting to the CEO, with a dotted line to the VP Business Development, it plays a key role in driving external visibility and internal engagement.
Focused on turning strategic priorities into actionable plans, the role delivers impactful campaigns, strengthens brand presence, and supports business development. It also drives internal communications to promote alignment and a consistent company narrative. Using market intelligence, industry insights, and performance data, the role informs senior leadership decisions. It also leads on key initiatives such as conference planning and coordination of the Drug Development Advisory Board (DAB), directly contributing to Simbec-Orion's growth objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Execute the annual Marketing Plan in alignment with strategic priorities set by the CEO and VP Business Development, ensuring delivery against approved budgets and clearly defined KPIs and return on investment (RoI) objectives.
Develop, implement, and continuously review multi-channel marketing strategies and tactical campaigns. Channels may include digital (website, webinars), events (conferences, symposia), advertising, PR, sales materials, case studies, educational content, and personal selling initiatives.
Identify and drive business development opportunities by leveraging market research, competitor intelligence, and data analysis to inform strategic planning and executive-level decision-making.
Manage effective relationships with external communications partners, including marketing agencies, designers, and content creators--ensuring creative oversight, quality control, on-time delivery, and budget adherence.
Design and deliver regular Client Satisfaction Surveys, collate actionable insights, and present findings to senior stakeholders to inform continuous service enhancement.
Lead internal communications activity by creating and executing a strategic content plan, drafting and editing high-quality copy, and managing the production of internal communication assets.
Partner with the commercial team to develop persuasive, on-brand content for proposals, bid defences, sales presentations, and strategic client communications.
Act as a Brand Ambassador, ensuring consistent and correct use of logos, imagery, tone of voice and messaging across all channels in alignment with Brand Guidelines.
Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of industry conferences and events where Simbec-Orion is a participant or exhibitor. Manage end-to-end logistics, pre- and post-event communications, and performance tracking.
Oversee all logistical and communications aspects of the quarterly Drug Development Advisory Board (DAB) meetings, including liaising with external experts, coordinating schedules, collecting and preparing presentations, distributing materials, and managing follow-ups and engagement.
Provide marketing and communications support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate strategic initiatives as needed.
