The firm has a truly global Tax, Pensions, Employment and Incentives practice with first-class capability and market leaders in their respective disciplines. The practice delivers commercial advice across the full spectrum of international and domestic tax issues, while the experienced employment, incentives and pensions specialists work with clients across a range of sectors to address local and cross-border issues. This will be a strategic role requiring a high-energy individual to lead on the development of products and the successful delivery of initiatives. It will be hands-on, proactive and business critical in its support to the global practice area and will provide an opportunity for the Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager to have a huge impact. You will be part of the firmwide Marketing & BD Leadership team and will contribute to wider firm strategy. Reporting into the Global Head of Marketing & BD for Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Tax, Pensions, Employment and Incentives and directly managing the Associate Marketing & BD Manager for the London Tax, Pensions, Employment and Incentives practice, you will work with Partners and Lawyers on their client and market development initiatives and define and implement the Marketing & BD plan and strategy. The role holder will conduct competitor, client and marketplace analysis to identify new and emerging opportunities, oversee the effective pursuit of opportunities, including coaching lawyers, and provide tailored input into significant global practice related pitches and capability statements. You will also be expected to apply your depth of Tax, Pensions, Employment and Incentives product knowledge to support client and segment programmes that run across the firm and will support the client listening programme, conducting client feedback interviews for significant opportunities globally. On the marketing side, the successful applicant will be required to identify opportunities to position and raise the profile of the practice and its individual lawyers. Responsibilities will include organising client events, seminars and conferences, sponsorships and PR, supporting the creation and distribution of thought leadership material, overseeing marketing communications projects and delivering directory and awards submissions. Prerequisites for this exciting role include an outstanding academic record or equivalent, allied to substantial business development experience gained in a professional services environment, preferably in a law or Big Four firm, to include previous leadership responsibility. A motivated self-starter with a solid track record of delivering high quality work, both personally and through a team, the Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager will possess an innovative approach, excellent project management capabilities and strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. A strong interest in and understanding of the work types covered by the Tax, Pensions, Employment and Incentives practice and a sound commercial awareness of legal market developments will also be essential.
