We are looking for Senior Manager, Publication Selection Strategy (Editorial Integrity) to join our Web of Science editorial team in London. Someone with a passion for research integrity to lead editorial integrity activities within our team.
This role reports to the Director, Publication Selection Strategy (Executive Editor), Web of Science. The successful candidate will lead editorial integrity investigations and will work closely with the editorial leadership team to keep the Web of Science free from untrustworthy content and protect the integrity of journal-level metrics published in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about upholding the position of Web of Science as the leading publisher-neutral citation database and the need for increased collaboration between stakeholder groups to protect the integrity of the scholarly record and accelerate innovation.
About You \xe2\x80\x93 experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent
Five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an editorial or publishing role within the scholarly publishing industry with direct experience handling research integrity investigations
Deep knowledge of the scholarly publishing sector, the challenges it faces from fraudulent/unethical practices, and the incentives that drive these practices
Ability to direct complex analyses and give clear guidance and recommendations
Proven experience in customer-facing situations that require the requisite diplomacy, discretion, and professionalism
Excellent English language verbal and written skills to effectively and accurately communicate complex information and data internally and externally
Proven experience of sharing knowledge and information with colleagues to support their own work and decision-making
Familiarity using Web of Science

What will you be doing in this role?
Lead investigations of indexed journals where quality concerns have been identified through internal monitoring or community feedback
Manage internal and external queries regarding editorial integrity concerns
Provide support for in-house editors to help ensure all editorial decisions are data-based, fair and consistent
Engage with the publishing community to stay abreast of developments on the research integrity front
About the Team
You will be reporting to the Director, Publication Selection Strategy (Executive Editor), Web of Science and working closely with the editorial leadership team
You will be part of the wider Web of Science editorial team with ~50 members across the UK, USA, Spain, Serbia and India
You will play a key role in the ongoing transformation of the Web of Science editorial division as we continue to adapt to the rapidly evolving publishing landscape whilst respecting heritage and legacy
Hours of work
This is a permanent full-time position. The position is hybrid going to our central office in London 2-3 times per week. This position requires occasional travel for in-person publisher meetings and conference attendance.
