Senior Manager of Procurement & Contracts
Join EDF as a Senior Manager of Procurement & Contracts team where you will play a pivotal role in leading the team to develop the Procurement & Contracts strategy to meet the Corporate and Customers Business\' needs.
The Opportunity
You will have overall responsibility for leading the Corporate and Customers Supply Chain Team responsible for procurement and contract management of Corporate and Partnerships third-party goods and services. This includes team leadership as well as hands on responsibility for stakeholder partnering, procurement activity, contract management and strategic supplier management throughout the life cycle of the key contracts.
You will lead the Supplier Relationship Management engagements and be an escalation point to the team on compliance matters, whilst working with the wider Procurement & Contracts function to implement departmental change. You will need to act as a subject matter expert in Procurement & Contracts matters for your team. Therefore, a strong generalist background in indirect procurement and category management would be of an advantage.

What you\'ll be doing
As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Procurement & Contracts professionals in developing sourcing strategies to meet business needs. You will provide procurement and contract management support for all contracts and categories within the remit. This will require developing close working relationships with the relevant stakeholders, other Supply Chain colleagues, and Group Procurement to drive the most appropriate Procurement & Contracts Strategy to ensure that suppliers deliver to their contractual obligations and are in line with the governance requirements.
You will provide leadership to your team to encourage excellent service through professionalism and ensuring the team are motivated and trained to deliver value to EDF Energy. Provide commercial expertise and guidance to stakeholders to ensure your team deliver optimal commercial and contractual solutions. You will also ensure that your team work in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner, and that external suppliers and contractors understand and demonstrate EDF Energy\'s safety requirements.
Periodically review Supply Chain financial planning controls ensuring that business commitments are managed appropriately with outcomes updated into relevant information systems. Undertake supplier market analysis to ensure that the risk to EDF Energy is identified and managed to acceptable levels. Ensure that the supplier base is fully understood, and that appropriate relationships are developed with our key suppliers to maximise the value to the business.
Who you are
You will require a balance of strong leadership and communication skills and will be expected to be the key point of contact for senior stakeholders. With a proven record of leading and inspiring individuals to drive performance and deliver business objectives. You champion diversity and inclusion in the workplace, either as a leader or individual contributor. You will also require strong Procurement, Contract Management and Supplier Management and process skills.
Experience of forming, negotiating, and maintaining strategic commercial relationships with an ability to bring together Supply Chain and Business teams. Strong influencing skills, ability to challenge management without alienating them. You will have a strong understanding of contract and commercial law, with sound understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
Holding previous project management experience in running complex tenders and/or supporting business change activities to deliver business objectives. Demonstrated success in the development and delivery of successful sourcing/category strategies and implementing suitable contractual arrangements.
