About the role
We are looking for a
Senior Management Accountant
to join our Finance team on a
12 month fixed term basis
. This role is a home based within the Greater Manchester region, where there is no daily requirement to attend an office but you'll need to attend office as and when required to perform your duties.
The purpose of the role is to support the provision of financial and management accounting services in relation to service charges. To understand and ensure accuracy of reporting and classification of service costs to suit the tailored needs of the operational areas, as well as the regulatory and statutory requirements.
Management Accounts
Support the preparation of the monthly management accounts in relation to service costs for the group including CPS & all leaseholders. Providing accurate and relevant narrative to the organisation on financial performance, carrying out variance analysis to understand variances against budget.
Reporting
Producing management information reporting to a high standard and within prescribed timescales. Support the coordination and production of the month end accounts, prepare control account reconciliations and analysis, ensure all reporting is delivered within agreed group time scales. Develop and manage a link between the analysis of data and other teams. Provide data assurance to ensure that information decisions are made at the right level. Liaise with external and internal auditors to provide information and resolution to queries and put in place improvements based on recommendations.
Year End Audit
Support the Finance Manager - Services & Leasehold to deliver the annual service charge external audit within the required timeframe with minimal management points.
Customer Service
Working with colleagues to create and develop service charge reports which support the key stakeholders to effectively manage and monitor their budgets.
Budget & Forecast Monitoring
Support the delivery a robust and accurate service charge budget and forecast process ensuring 100% cost recovery. Monitor monthly budgets and forecasts.
Collaboration
Work in collaboration with finance colleagues to develop and maintain effective processes and reporting through systems. Encourage a culture of cross team collaboration; support workplace mentoring for finance team members wanting to progress. Required as and when necessary to support areas of the finance team at peak times or on major projects.
Process Improvement
Drive continual process improvement to deliver effective control and data assurance across the group. Develop and manage a link between the analysis of data and other teams.
What we require?

Significant experience of working in finance
Intermediate to Advanced IT skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to plan and prioritise workload
Enthusiastic and action oriented
Committed to team working
Good commentary/ report writing skills
Management Experience
Desirable:
Experience in the housing sector
Qualifications:
Full/Part or working towards qualification with a recognised accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or relevant professional experience.
