FTE: Negotiable: 0.6 or 0.8 (i.e. equivalent to three or four days per week)

Salary: UH8 \xc2\xa344,263pa to \xc2\xa356,021pa pro rata by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Music with specialism in music composition for soundtracks, and with vision and passion to join an established music team within our large and vibrant Music Department, situated at the heart of our School of Creative Arts, UH.
Our Music Department provides students with a spectrum of forward-facing awards, sharply focused to a range of possible careers within the modern music industry. All courses place emphasis on innovation, creativity and employability - most lead to BSc/MSc outcomes, signally that technology is placed centrally.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Senior Lecturer will be delivering engaging and relevant content for undergraduate and postgraduate students on our \'Music Composition for Film and Games\' awards, covering related theoretical aspects (the language/ narrative of music & sound for the moving image) as well as the practical application (ie. linear composition for media) however, an ability to extend coverage to related applications for interactive games / entertainment is desirable (ie. non-linear).
You will be a key member of the Music Department and the School of Creative Arts, and will play an active role in delivering an exceptional student experience, and carrying out the functions and responsibilities of the Music Department and School, upholding the professional ethos of the University and sharing in the corporate responsibility for the academic well-being of our students.
Skills and experience required
You will ideally substantial proven teaching experience at HE level with an ability to communicate and engage students effectively. You will possess significant breadth and depth of specialist practical, technical and theoretical knowledge relating to music composition for the moving image, and may also have an understanding of interactive applications (such as music and sound for entertainment / games). You will be able to apply a wide range of relevant skills and experience to a range of other related areas, and be adaptable to workload and team requirements, with the ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of an established music team.
Qualifications required
A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) is required. You will have a Postgraduate qualification, i.e. Masters / or PhD (completed, or close to completion) or significant industry experience.
