About the Role:
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In Education these include the PGCert, MA Education, MBA, PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies, Montessori and Primary Education Studies. Following our successful accreditation from the Department of Education, we will be delivering courses that award Qualified Teacher Status from September 2024, starting with a brand-new three-year BEd (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status.
We\'re seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Education with experience in higher education and initial teacher training. You will have a higher degree or relevant professional qualification in subject discipline at post graduate level and with QTS. Ideally you will have primary subject expertise and experience of supporting trainee or early career teachers. In this role you will be based in either Chelmsford or Cambridge and will support the development of, and from September 2024 teach on, the new BEd curriculum, support the delivery of mentor training under the new requirements for ITT and support partnership development activities within the region. You will also have the opportunity to teach across the Education portfolio including Masters and Doctoral supervision and contribute to the Department Research strategy.
You will be an integral part of the new ITT team, led by the Director of ITT and three Leads for ITT: Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough and you\'ll be joining a team of motivated, dynamic, inclusive individuals.
