By Joining Citi, you will become part of a global organisation whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.Team/Role OverviewCiti is seeking a seasoned lawyer to work with its industry-leading foreign exchange business to develop, deploy and manage innovative systems used for trading, settling, clearing, confirming, and collateralizing foreign exchange and related transactions and services (Foreign Exchange Platforms). As Senior Lead Counsel - Foreign Exchange, this role will provide leadership and cohesiveness to Citi Foreign Exchange Legals global management of legal and regulatory risks relating to Foreign Exchange Platforms.What youll doThe successful candidate will be:

• Working in close partnership with the business product team on all aspects of legal and regulatory risk assessment of proposed new Foreign Exchange (FX) Platform relationships;
• Negotiating and/or drafting essential legal documentation associated with FX Platforms;
• Building partnerships and on-going engagement with cross-functional teams, including, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Information Technology Legal, Network Management, Privacy and Data Legal leads to ensure an on-going and resilient end-to-end legal risk and control framework;
• Designing and leading a legal strategy and partnership with the business for on-going inventorying, monitoring, managing, and mitigating of legal and regulatory risks presented by existing and new FX Platforms;
• Maintaining an on-going collaboration and engagement with relevant industry groups to stay current on FX Platforms industry best practices, emerging risks, proposed rules, regulations, regulatory guidance, regulatory developments (such as enforcement actions).

What were looking for

• Relevant industry experience, preferably in capital markets/financial services
• Knowledge of standards and principles recommended for banking organizations by prudential regulators or global standard setting bodies on managing risks relating to third party service providers such as FX Platform vendors.
• Demonstrated strength and skill in establishing effective working relationships across the business and support functions is required.
• Proven ability to apply sound judgement while managing assignments in a demanding, fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of United States, United Kingdom, and European Union swap dealer regulations
• Bar license in good standing to practice law
