Business area introduction
The HR function focuses on attracting, developing, and retaining the employees of SCIB UK via the following functions:
Reward
- Strategic Remuneration: Managing remuneration policy & annual salary & bonus review processes, ensuring alignment to regulatory requirements. Benefits and Pension Services and regulatory reporting.
Strategic Business Partnering
: Strategic HR support to meet business objectives by ensuring the successful delivery of the organisation's people plan.
Resourcing
: Managing end to end activities of resourcing. International mobility.
Culture and HR Strategy
: Strategic support to ExCo and support to the business and employees to develop diverse & inclusive environment, engagement, insights, performance management and managing culture & change.
Training and Talent Development:
Development, management, and facilitation of employee learning and development programmes. Identification of potential & emerging talent, talent strategy planning and succession planning,
Employee Relations, Policy, Change and Health, Safety and Wellbeing:
Union relationship management, development, and review of HR policies, change management and specialist HR case management.
HR Operations
: Employee Lifecycle Administration and advice, including complex case management and onboarding activities, partnering projects, policy guidance and HR Systems maintenance and support.
Payroll
: Management and administration.
HR Reporting, People MI, and Analytics & Data Management:
Providing people MI internally to HR and externally to the organisation.
Key activities
As a senior Strategic People Partner, partners with the Executive Committee (ExCo) members/Senior Leaders of the Santander London Branch (SLB) and their teams to provide commercially focused counsel, coaching, and advice.
Delivers the people agenda for Santander SCIB UK, partnering and supporting the business to ensure engagement with people priorities.
Through collaborative working relationships with the Business Areas, supports the identification of current and future people related opportunities, challenges and risks and delivers initiatives providing a seamless customer experience.
Manages change and BAU activity within the allocated business areas, working with stakeholders and providing on-going support to the Head of Human Resources and other HR SMEs.
Participates and makes value-added contributions to wider HR and BP team initiatives and activities at the local and Global level for SCIB across the full range of HR disciplines.
Manages other HRBPs as required.
What we're looking for
Has a general overview of each Specialist HR area, the key deliverables and oversight of how these link to ensure a joined-up approach in business areas.
Sound understanding of the business area(s) the role supports, including business targets, operating models, and regulatory landscape.
Ability to analyse data and make appropriate recommendations for action.
Ability to engage with key stakeholders building trust and confidence across both the HR function and the business to deliver the HR priorities.
Experience of managing and influencing people issues, identifying a range of solution meeting business expectations.
Ability to work collaboratively, providing constructive challenge on content of solutions, to drive best practices and support team delivery.
Sound written communication skills and the ability to convey complex topics in a simple, engaging way.
CIPD membership or equivalent qualification
Experience in a similar role demonstrating general knowledge across HR disciplines and ability to build partnerships with stakeholders.
Educated to Degree level or equivalent qualification desirable

This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.
