We are delighted to be recruiting for a brand new role of Senior Food Technologist within our Technical Team but working extremely closely with our Production Team. The main requirements of the role (but not limited to):
Provide support in continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems (and all related documentation), food safety, food defence to meet the customers and third-party audit standards
Assist the Technical Manager in implementation and improvement of Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures set by business and provide support for the development and continuous improvement of these policies. Ensuring they are reviewed, kept up to date and implemented accordingly.
Stepping up in the absence of our Technical Manager during annual leave.
Responsible for conducting customer's standards/code of practice Gap Analys.
Identify gaps in internal standards within the business operations.
Assist in updating internal procedures and policies to ensure compliance with customer standards and meets with all current food legislation
Identify gaps and support with compliance with BRCGS Food Safety.
Responsible for conducting and keeping Risk Assessments up to date.
Assist with checking and approving artwork.
Undertake project work as directed by the Technical Manager.
Plan and carry out process audits to verify output from accountabilities
Contribute to customer and third-party audits and ensure compliance with quality management procedures related to food safety and food safety culture.
Conducting system internal audits and closing out non-conformances.
Deputise as appropriate for the Technical Manager during absence / holidays, including leading incident / Crisis management if required.
Any other reasonable management requests to meet the needs of the business.
The successful candidate:
will hold a degree in a food related subject.
hold a minimum of 3 years' experience within the food industry - ideally manufacturing.
previous experience of managing BRCGS and multiple retailer standards.
This role is Monday to Friday, based from our Chalkwell Road site in Sittingbourne. Hours of work are 8am to 4:30pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break (working 8:30am to 5pm whilst embedding into the business).
The salary banding is depending on experience.
