We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial accounting and management, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role will involve overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing mentorship to junior staff members. The Senior Financial Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organisation while contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
Conduct financial analysis to support management decisions and improve financial performance.
Manage the implementation and utilisation of accounting software such as Xero, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or Sage.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Mentor and guide junior accountants, providing training on best practices in financial management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for senior management.
Qualifications
Proven experience in financial accounting and management within a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or Sage is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Previous experience in mentoring or training junior staff is advantageous.
A relevant degree in finance or accounting is preferred; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) would be an asset.
