Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference and supporting the mission of the Church of England? We are looking for a dedicated Senior Finance Officer (Parish Share) to join our finance team at Church House Guildford on a part-time basis (0.5FTE).
Parish Share is the annual financial contribution that Parishes pay to the Diocese and the Senior Finance Officer (Parish Share) plays a key role in managing Parish Share, Parochial Fees, and parish financial administration. You will provide valuable advice and training to parishes and be the go-to person for parochial reorganisations and clergy moves.

*Some of the Key Responsibilities

:

+ Lead and communicate Parish Share calculations with clarity and empathy.

+ Monitor and forecast Parish Share and Parochial Fees collection to ensure financial stability.
+ Address any issues related to Parish Share promptly and effectively.
+ Assist in collecting and analyzing parish financial data to support decision-making.
+ Offer financial advice and training to parishes, helping them navigate financial challenges.
+ Support parochial reorganizations and clergy removals, ensuring smooth transitions.

*Qualifications and Experience

:

+ Minimum 'A' level education or equivalent.

+ Strong financial management and communication skills.
+ Experience in negotiating and managing multiple activities.
+ Proficiency in IT (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
+ A commitment to the mission of the Church of England.
