As a Barclays Senior Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Cloud DevOps, this is an exciting opportunity for you to join the Barclays Corporate Digital Bank engineering team who are at the forefront of our digital transformation to provide our clients with a modern, cloud-based digital banking proposition. We build front to back, real-time and smart self-serve digital services, which support Corporate clients as they manage their cash, debt, trade, liquidity and FX.

What will you be doing?

• Delivering world class applications to provide an enhanced customer experience across our Digital Corporate Bank estate
• Playing a key role in the platform services engineering team as we build real-time streaming applications and APIs as part of our digital transformation
• Using your expertise and experience building Java microservices with Spring to build APIs and services for our clients
• Building event focused platform services using Kafka, enabling our application teams to serve our clients faster and with an improved customer experience
• Provisioning and delivering the services and APIs that you build on our next-generation cloud platform
• Sharing your passion for code with the team, championing new technologies and ways of working with your colleagues

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Great experience building software using JVM based languages
• History of producing high quality code and championing good practices
• Exposure to and understanding of Cloud technologies
• Experience working with Kafka and developing streaming applications, delivering mission critical applications using an Agile approach

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Exposure to DDD and frameworks used to deliver applications using this approach
• Ability to design and build Kafka Streams applications using the Streams API by means of the DSL API and Processor API
• Experience building Reactive Java microservices

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we\'ve been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
