Your Role




Working alongside an employment law colleague, you will lead and manage a mixed caseload of employment work for TfGM, The Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, including:

Advising clients on employment law issues including formal procedures and claims; Reviewing and developing employment policies/ contracts of employment in line with legislative changes; Defending Employment Tribunal Claims; The application of TUPE; Drafting Settlement Agreements; Advice relating to Industrial Relations and collective bargaining; Instructing external lawyers / counsel where necessary; Other duties that fall within the scope of the role.

Who are we?




You will be joining our large friendly and supportive in-house legal team who cover a number of different areas of expertise . You will provide legal services to the organisation in accordance with policy and organisational requirements ensuring that the risk and exposure of the organisation is minimised. You will have full autonomy to lead your own caseload and manage relationships with internal clients and external support.

You will be an employment solicitor/Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with 7+ years pqe preferably in a public sector environment (although that is not essential) and with previous experience of managing your own caseload. Tribunal experience would also be advantageous. You will be a team player with strong technical and communication skills who is organised and able to manage their own time.

This is a permanent role with a salary of 57,770- 79,805 per annum depending on skills and experience.
