HydroSurv is a designer and builder of Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) platforms for hydrographic, geophysical and oceanographic survey use. We have developed a range of field-proven battery-electric and battery-hybrid vessels for inland, nearshore and coastal use with a rapidly growing customer base in the UK and around the globe.
Summary
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to join our experienced and dedicated team at HydroSurv. The role is pivotal in supporting our expanding pipeline for new-build projects and vessel conversions. As a Senior Electrical Technician, you'll draw upon your industry expertise, whilst being supported by the Chief Electrical Design Engineer and the Senior USV Electrical Technician getting hands-on with exciting career in ocean tech.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, build and maintain electrical systems for USV platforms.
Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation, commissioning and test of electrical systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in power systems and electronics systems efficiently.
Collaborate with wider project team to integrate vessel navigation and communication systems, sensor and instrument payload systems and robotic control systems.
Utilise 2D / 3D CAD to design electrical systems, layouts and modifications.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations during all electrical work.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, Electrical Integration Engineer or a similar role, preferably within the marine or ocean technology sectors.
Strong knowledge of industrial control and automation electronics, ideally with experience in PLC systems or industrial robotics.
Proficiency in 2D / 3D CAD or similar design software is advantageous.
Ability to maintain high standards of quality in work output, whilst working within the needs of a busy production schedule.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
