The Role:




To supervise and support junior staff. Prepare and update electrical deliverables. The candidate will have particular experience in green field and brown field engineering of onshore and offshore O&G facilities. Having experience in renewables would be advantageous. Capable of contributing to various technical areas as part of a small project team. Capable of originating documentation and working with minimum supervision and external input. Capable of prioritising workload and working to a project schedule.

Scope of Responsibilities

:


To ensure the quality of work undertaken by themselves and others is commensurate with the goal of the activity considering the constraints of time and budget. To support with competency the Engineering Design of Electrical Systems for Offshore and Onshore Installations in the UK, from Concept phase to Detail Design, actively participating to the production of Project Deliverables and Discipline Meetings. To conduct Power System studies including calculation files. To design MV substations. To define requirements for LV switchgear. To coordinate engineering activities with other interested parties. To represent DORIS with Clients on technical matters. To prepare and update technical specifications. To prepare and issue reports on electrical design. To prepare and issue Enquiry Documentation. To complete Technical Bid Analyses of electrical equipment and materials. To attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs). To assist with the preparation of budget estimates (materials and man-hours). To review Project Documents produced by third parties. To support junior engineers and designers as required.

Safety and Environmental Related Tasks

:


Responsible for SHEQ activities. Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership. Ensure the implementation of adequate Health, Safety and Environmental work practices, procedures and methods to meet all statutory requirements and the Company SHEQ Management System.

Qualifications:




Would be an advantage to hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering combined with 5+ years of professional experience in design and engineering. Candidate must be registered with an Engineering Council or equivalent and preferably working towards Chartered status.

Competencies & Soft Skills:





Electrical engineer, with experience as an electrical engineer in the oil and gas industry for onshore and offshore projects. Candidate should have:


ETAP or similar software experience Commercial awareness Proven communication skills in dealing with senior internal and external stakeholders Ability to follow client's specifications and standards Attention to detail Strong work ethic Leadership skills Ability to multi-task Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confident and outgoing individual Team player and self-starter Strong IT literacy Flexible to travel in UK and Overseas Leadership experience Good report and procedure writing skills Good ability to work on own initiative with a 'can do' attitude
