This position resides within our company\'s Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence (CORE), which leads value evidence strategy development and conducts research to inform healthcare decision making.
Under the guidance of a senior leader, the Senior Director for Precision Medicine and Innovative Strategies has the primary responsibility for developing and executing the strategy to help define the unmet needs and demonstrate the value and affordability of precision medicine including oncology biomarkers and diagnostics and other emerging tools and platforms. Additional responsibility includes supporting the clinical development team that is focused on innovative therapeutic approaches such as tumor agnostic programs and in addressing the needs of underserved patient populations. This position would have people management responsibility.
The incumbent in this role will develop close connections across several functions to gain insights and feedback on opportunities to leverage real-world evidence to support product development, demonstrate the value of emerging biomarkers and diagnostic platforms and advance our precision medicine vision. Key internal stakeholders include tumor-specific Value Evidence Sub-teams, Global and US commercial, Global Market Access and Global Medical and Scientific affairs. The incumbent is expected to keep abreast of the latest advances and developments in oncology biomarkers and diagnostic platforms as they relate to real-world data and evidence generation, strategic partnerships, and opportunities to shape the broader diagnostic ecosystem. The incumbent would harness quantitative research and health economics skills, experience in real world studies, and understanding of the rapidly evolving paradigm of precision medicine.
The incumbent will:
Lead strategic and technical discussions in the cross functional Precision Medicine Value Team (PMVT) and the Innovative Strategies Value Team for stakeholder input, alignment and/or awareness on key topic and subject matter
Collaborate with stakeholders within tumor specific and pan tumor Value Teams (VT) and Value and Implementation (V&I) teams as well as cross functionally including global medical affairs, policy, global and US commercial to understand the value evidence needs for the diagnostics and biomarkers so as to enable the optimal use of our medicines in biomarker-/diagnostic-based indications
Represent CORE on one or more VTs and provide leadership in developing the value evidence strategies and plans for developmental biomarkers and diagnostic assays identified by cross-functional stakeholders
Critically assess drivers and barriers to reimbursement and successful implement of diagnostic testing in routine care and identifies value evidence needs to provide strategic input into clinical, diagnostic and market development programs.
Brings strong payer and HTA/reimbursement focus into the Diagnostic Development Team(s) and has expertise in demonstrating the clinical and economic value of the diagnostic assays to payers
Develop the integrated evidence strategy to address the barriers identified for one or more biomarker-based indications
Stay abreast of emerging methodological approaches in the economic/HTA evaluation of biomarkers and diagnostics
Lead precision medicine evidence generation studies from concept development through publication in peer-reviewed journals with appropriate guidance
Effectively communicate findings from research activities throughout our Company and external stakeholders at leading scientific meetings
Build relationships with precision medicine health economic and outcomes research leaders worldwide
Education Minimum Requirement:
Doctoral degree from a recognized school in medicine, public health, health services research, decision sciences, pharmacy, or related field
Required Experience and Skills:
In-depth understanding of oncology real-world data sources and real-world evidence generation to generate scientifically rigorous value evidence from secondary data sources
7+ years post PhD degree of relevant experience in epidemiology or outcomes research as applied to biomarkers, diagnostics or digital technologies
Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of clinical, epidemiological, or health economic studies relevant to biomarkers and diagnostic assays
Demonstrated expertise in the fields of outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology or health economics, and/or health technology assessment
A track record of scientific presentations and publications
Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
Effective oral and written communication skills that enables impact with key stakeholders
Demonstrated ability in developing competencies in new topics or methods
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in precision oncology-related outcomes research, epidemiology or health economics preferred.

Expected salary range: $193,440.00 - $304,500.00
