Senior Credit Risk Specialist

Working at our iconic office in Kings Cross, London, and virtually via Microsoft Teams

Your new role at NewDay

You\'ll be at the forefront of driving the underwriting credit risk strategy for NewDay\'s Point of Sale retail products - continuously optimising strategies on existing retail partners and designing strategies for new ones.

0-12 months you\'ll deliver

  • Creation of new credit risk strategies for major retail partners set to onboard over Q1-Q3\'24
  • Merchant/Sector specific cut-off reviews within the NewPay 1:Many merchant network.
  • Optimisation of limit strategies and cut-offs following introduction of a new scorecard.
  • Monthly reviews of delinquency performance on new originations; doing deep dives on unexpected trends.
  • Engaging with Commercial teams to ensure risk is appropriately factored into broader initiatives and profitability forecasts.
What you will bring

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
  • University degree level or similar with highly numerate and analytical background
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, with experience in developing credit strategies in consumer finance
  • Proficient in using SQL/Python for data analysis
  • Advanced technical Excel knowledge
  • Ability to analyse data, understand trends and apply commercial judgement to produce insights and / or recommendations
And would love you to know or learn:
  • Experience in point-of-sale finance
  • Experience in mentoring technical and analytical capability of fellow colleagues.
