The opportunity

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking senior construction manager to join our established and growing team in Bristol. To manage the construction team to ensure the successful development and delivery.

Project: Working with Mace Interiors to deliver an innovative refurb project, incorporating new specialist functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

Pre-construction

During the proposal stage assist the submissions team in preparing the method statement, logistics plans and potential health, safety and environment issues.

Walking the site and evaluates design information, reviewing drawings and specifications.

Ensuring approval of any temporary works.

Ensuring mobilisation meetings are being carried out.

Providing input into the pre-commencement project safety assessment.

Ensuring site induction is produced and delivered.

Producing the H&S project executive plan.

Construction

Overseeing technical support from the project manager, for the issue and consultant approval of sub-contractor technical submissions.

Formulating and distributing of the project emergency action plan.

Preparing the handover manual and issues to the client at handover.

Controlling the construction process, the onsite management of contractors and their progress.

Arranging and chairing design meetings and workshops including the management of samples, mock ups and others as detailed in the quality plan.

Reviewing bid information and acquaint themselves with the content of the packages and the value of the elements that they are managing.

Ensuring all site inspection, checklist and HSW reports are being carried out.

Close-out.

Providing feedback on sub-contractor management, to central data base.

Managing any defects reported by the client during the defects period.

Overseeing and managing the six month and twelve month defect inspections and ensuring that all outstanding defects are rectified.

About you

You have a relevant degree qualification. You have HND or HNC qualification in construction or other similar background. You have a professional membership. You have a valid CSCS card and SMSTS training. You have good knowledge of health and safety and CDM requirements. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated construction teams.
