About the role



We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Compliance Officer to join our Risk and Compliance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization maintains robust compliance frameworks, complies with all regulatory requirements, focusing on compliance monitoring, risk management, consumer duty, GDPR and fostering a culture of compliance and integrity. You will be
instrumental in embedding robust compliance frameworks, delivering strategic insights, and providing operational leadership to uphold the highest standards of regulatory adherence. The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance oversight, monitoring activities, and supporting the Director of Risk and Compliance in reporting to the Board. This role is based in our London office.

What you'll do



+ Key Responsibilities +

Compliance Oversight & Monitoring


+ Oversee the effectiveness of the compliance framework, with a strong focus on AML operations and regulatory adherence
+ Design and implement compliance monitoring programs to assess business functions, operational processes, and controls
+ Identify compliance gaps or emerging risks and recommend actionable remediation plans
+ Conduct thematic reviews and ongoing testing of controls, tracking issues to resolution
+ Stay informed of regulatory changes, particularly within open banking and financial services, and assess their impact on the business
+ Produce regular compliance reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders, highlighting key risk indicators and monitoring outcomes

Risk Management & Policy Development


+ Collaborate with the Risk team to embed a strong compliance risk management culture across the organisation
+ Develop, maintain, and review compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices
+ Lead periodic compliance risk assessments and support the implementation of risk mitigation strategies
+ Contribute to product risk assessments, ensuring new initiatives are appropriately reviewed from a compliance perspective

Audit & Regulatory Engagement


+ Act as the key liaison for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required documentation
+ Manage responses to audit findings and oversee the implementation of agreed corrective actions
+ Support regulatory reporting and filings as required by the FCA or other authorities
+

Board & Senior Management Reporting


+ Work closely with the Director of Risk and Compliance to prepare insightful and data-driven reports for the Board and Executive Committee
+ Present updates on regulatory developments, compliance metrics, and emerging risk areas
+

Stakeholder Engagement & Culture


+ Build strong partnerships across the business, including Legal, Risk, Product, and Operations, to promote a culture of integrity and accountability
+ Provide guidance and support to teams on regulatory interpretation and compliance matters
+ Drive training and awareness initiatives on compliance topics, tailored to business needs and regulatory changes

Who you are



+ Senior compliance experience preferably in FinTech, financial services, or regulated environments + Deep understanding of UK regulations, especially FCA requirements, AML frameworks, and open banking
+ Strong grasp of risk management principles, compliance oversight, and internal control frameworks
+ Experience engaging with auditors, regulators, and producing board-level reports
+ Relevant qualifications (e.g. ICA, CAMS, or similar) are desired
+ Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and managing compliance risk
+ Strong policy writing and documentation skills
+ Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
+ Experience with compliance and risk management systems/tools
+ Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
