The opportunity
Project: Phase 2 of Manchester Airport\xe2\x80\x99s Terminal Transformation Programme consists of a major redevelopment of Terminal 2 as part of a \xc2\xa3400m facelift that will see it equipped for growth after the pandemic. Mace is engaged as the Construction Manager for Manchester Airport and we have a growing team engaged on this programme, guiding the client through the design, procurement and construction phases.
This role is part of the new build Pier 2 team that is focused on the \xc2\xa3100m construction of a new aircraft pier using DfMA techniques, connected to Terminal 2. Worked started in early 2023 in readiness for a 2025 opening.
Your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring close financial and commercial contract of your packages, providing weekly reports on progress and commercial status.
Assisting with the programme design and definition; the development of the packaging of work and articulation of the requirements for project delivery and the setting up and oversight of the project.
Assisting the development and maintenance of a robust change programme and programme governance framework, ensuring each meeting has clear terms of reference and everyone operating within governance understands their roles and responsibilities and decision-making authorities.
Monitoring the effectiveness of the programme and programme governance arrangements to ensure they continue to operate cohesively in line with the agreed terms of reference, taking action to address gaps as required.
Gaining stakeholder support and ensuring change is captured and approval sought for implementation.
Supporting regular reviews of the programme business case and any underpinning project business cases to ensure continued alignment with strategic intent.
Defining the requirements for project delivery including the projects boundaries, strategic tolerances and authority limits to which the project can operate and make decisions.
Working collaboratively with the Risk Manager to identify, capture and analyse project risks, opportunities and issues, ensuring all risks are mitigated and actions are tracked; risk escalation routes are defined and established; opportunities are fully exploited, and all issues are escalated to enable early intervention to prevent them becoming a risk to Programme delivery.
About you
You will have at least 3 years experience, preferably working in an Aviation or Infrastructure sector environment. Experience of working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, where budget control, and security resilience is beneficial. You must be able to work in an integrated team environment, where you will have professional interactions with client team members, fellow Mace colleagues and members of the design team and construction supply chain.
You must be willing to spend at least three days a week on site within the integrated programme office at Manchester Airport. This could extend to a full time commitment at peak times.
