Coordinates the provision of management services from contract signature and award to completion of projects in various different sectors. Provides comprehensive technical expertise on the administration of building contracts and the issuing of certificates.Youll be responsible for:
  • Ensuring preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and assist formal execution by the appropriate parties.
  • Providing comprehensive technical expertise on administration of the terms of building contracts.
  • Actively measuring and providing valuations of the work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with the terms of the contract to agree with contractor.
  • Utilising expertise to ensure adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract.
  • Developing financial reports for the clients in the form and at the frequency required.
  • Managing all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges.
  • Overseeing and engaging in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Providing expertise on the issuing of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Providing expertise on the issuing of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions and approvals.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement plans/identifies key business improvements.
  • Developing & maintaining a series of both internal and external relationships.
  • Managing & influencing key/senior stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Youll need to have:
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.
  • Proven experience in commercial management.
  • Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver.
  • Proven experience in areas such as risk management and change control management.
  • Proven experience of different types of contracts.
  • Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications. Negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills. Digitally competent.
  • A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
  • Detailed knowledge in most forms of contract.
  • Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/ market of project/role.
  • Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
  • Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration and contract management.
  • Ability to be effective communicator with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to seek opportunities for implementing improved working practices.
  • Manages relevant stakeholders for project/s.
  • Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills for resolving cost and contract administration and procurement issues within consult.
  • Uses advanced communication skills to collaborate with others to guide others to achieve project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Understands personal strengths and weaknesses, seeks learning and support where appropriate.
  • Identifying and participating in new initiatives that add value that led to service improvement e.g. BIM Champions and operates within an inclusivity environment.
  • Understanding of present-day issues such as sustainability, social value and carbon reduction.
  • Understanding of industry best practice.
Youll also have:
  • Capex V Opex Cost analysis/advice.
  • Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent).
