Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow post in critical care medicine to commence at a time discussed at interview with the potential of an immediate or delayed start date. This is a permanent post and will suit applicants with a minimum of 6 months critical care and one year anaesthetic experience or equivalent. A successful applicant must demonstrate a commitment to maximise their learning during this exciting opportunity to further their training in the United Kingdom.
Main duties of the job
The department will provide educational training opportunities equivalent to existing training programmes. Educational goal setting and assessment will consist of regular educational supervisor meetings and competency based workplace based assessments as needed to support the individual. There will be time given to develop a subspecialty interest.
The critical care unit supports a wide range of regional medical and surgical specialties and can provide training in the full range of practical procedures utilised in modern critical care.
The post will be based at Morriston Hospital and will provide opportunities to gain excellent experience in a wide range of critical care cases and undertake audit/quality improvement projects with the support of the department. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the departments Intensive Care teaching program.

The post is flexible and has an on-call commitment on a full shift rota system. The out of hours duties will be the same as those of the existing trainees in the department and provide cover to the ICU Senior rota.
