Target employment start date August 2025.This job is 2 days a week in Medical SDEC and 1 day on the Acute Medical Unit. There is an expectation for 1 day a week of evening working on a Thursday. We welcome applicants from all underrepresented groups.There are c 70-100 Acute Medical attendances per day from both Primary Care and the Emergency Department.There are 58 beds across the AMU, including 12 telemetry beds and 8 ECU beds delivering ECU-level care with continuous cardiac monitoring, high flow oxygen and non-invasive ventilation.The Acute Medical Team also run the medical SDEC service , this is open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 10am-6pm on weekends. • Full GMC registration
• Advanced Life Support Certification
• Completed at least four years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or equivalent experience and competencies
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including regular attendance on internal and external study programmes

Desirable

• Acute Medicine SCE

Work ExperienceEssential

• Experience and interest in teaching of staff, both undergraduate and postgraduate and from all disciplines
• Evidence of clinical audit (quality assessment/process improvement) experience
• Relevant publication in scientific journals, presentation at local/national conferences
• Being a medical registrar on call or equivalent and running an acute unselected medical take with consultant supervision.
• Making independent treatment and management decision including escalation and liaising with intensive care

Desirable

• Experience and knowledge of common infectious diseases and management
