We are seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Clinical Learning Manager to provide leadership and expertise across the trust for all aspects of clinical learning activities.This role focuses on the Continued Professional Development (CPD) offer to operational staff. Ensuring consistency and quality by providing leadership and guidance to those delivering the education.We are looking for an experienced and dynamic professional who will provide effective clinical oversight of the broad range of education and learning activities with experience of design and implementation of clinical training programmes that support the professional development of the trust's clinical workforce. The postholder will also be responsible for monitoring, quality assurance and standardisation of programme across the NWAS footprint.The ideal candidate will have experience of collaborative working with clinical leadership teams, training departments and external partners. An understanding of national standards, regulatory requirements and best clinical practice will be essential.Main duties of the jobIn this role, you will play a key part in the CPD journey of operational staff. At times focusing on clinical updates, changes in practice, policies or procedures. This will require working with subject matter experts, external partners and operational leadership teams. By proactively identifying and addressing challenges, you'll help create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment that fosters transformational learning experiences. You'll also champion a teaching culture of innovation, experimentation, and impactful learning.There will be a requirement to manage funding for a variety of CPD activities, ensuring that all financial activities are managed in accordance with the Trusts standing financial instruction. Oversight of clinical learning and development across a wide range of CPD resources will be required, including providing support to clinical leadership teams to deliver CPD activities.Finally, the candidate will be required to maintain their paramedic registration with the HCPC by completing clinical shifts as agreed with the Consultant Paramedic (CP) for education, this will include a form of contact shift with the CP.About usNorth West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West.   • Registered HCPC Paramedic, with degree level clinical education.
  • Education/learning qualification
  • Hold a level 6/7 module related to mentoring learners in practice (or willing to work towards)
  • Effective knowledge of clinical practices and understanding of impact of changes on staff competency
  • Hold a full driving licence.
  • Exhibit strong skills in teaching, leadership and problem solving.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence.
ExperienceEssential
  • Experience working in a clinical role, with developed knowledge of pre-hospital and emergency/urgent care practice
  • Design and delivery of education and learning activities in a work-based context, with evidence of positive impact on learners across a broad range of learning programmes.
  • Experience supporting learners as a practice educator, with evidence of mentoring students, assessing competencies, providing feedback, etc
