Arnold House is a five bedded residential unit housing young people with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and learning difficulties between the ages of 8-18. The Arnold House team are committed to providing the best quality care for the young people that they look after and as such we are looking for a candidate who will share that passion and have a genuine motivation to achieve the best possible care and outcomes for young people.
The role includes supporting with day-to-day life, which may include working alongside the children's families and other professionals, assisting the children with education and life skills and providing the children with support and guidance and positive life experiences. We are a small home so we encourage a "family feel" where possible, this involves eating our meals together, creating positive relationships and supporting the care of our children from when they wake up in the morning to when they settle to their bedroom at night.
You will set up the daily shift planners, delegate tasks to the residential care workers, provide formal and informal supervision to residential and domestic staff and oversee a small care team that strives to improves outcomes for children and you will be responsible for the running of the shifts and day to day decision making.
There may also be occasions where you are responsible for the smooth running of the home in the absence of a manager and report writing of risk assessments and care plans.

What will you be doing?
You will provide strong leadership to a team of support staff, guiding and motivating them to deliver the highest standard of care.
You will collaborate with social workers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans for each child, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met. You will complete risk assessments, PBSP, and any other paperwork related to the young person, demonstrating evidence-based practices. You will lead a care team focused on the young person's progress and development.
Overseeing care plans, risk assessments, and documentation to meet Ofsted regulations.
Conducting regular supervision sessions with team members, offering guidance, feedback, and support to help them excel in their roles.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children within the home, monitoring and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
You will advocate for the rights and best interests of the children, ensuring they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.
You will work collaboratively with other team leaders and staff to maintain a cohesive and supportive work environment.
Maintaining accurate records of the children's progress, behaviour, and any incidents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Identifying training needs for team members and supporting their professional development to enhance their skills and knowledge
About you
You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic, patient and flexible amongst other things. You will find it easy to establish and build positive relationships with Young People.
You will have a nurturing nature with a child centric approach to the support you give whether that be personal care or creating tailored experiences for our children.
