Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team on nightshift. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. You will be responsible for supporting the daily needs of our seniors, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting their independence. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both residents and staff.

Duties

Dispensing and administering medications. Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing. Support residents in maintaining their daily routines and engaging in social activities. Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Supervise junior staff members and provide leadership within the team. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions. Drive residents to appointments or outings as required, ensuring their safety during transport. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.

Skills

Experience in a care home environment is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents and colleagues effectively. Ability to drive is an advantage for transporting residents when necessary. Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs. Proven leadership skills with experience supervising staff members. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software. A genuine passion for senior care, demonstrating empathy and patience in all interactions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 38.5 per week
