Job Description

Auto4 specialises in the supply of tyre equipment and consumable products to the tyre industry, whether that be car, commercial or earthmover.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Senior Buyer at our office in Kirkby In Ashfield (NG17 9GU)

This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development.

Reporting into the Purchasing Team the individual will look after the following:

1.Raising purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring quantities and prices are correct and agreeing lead times.

2.Approve purchase invoices for accuracy, raising and resolving queries in a timely manner.

3.Develop and sustain good relationships with all key points of contact, with a particular focus on suppliers. Constantly be on the lookout for new suppliers that might be able to offer better prices, terms, service or access to a wider range of product.

4.Managing suppliers to ensure agreed lead times are adhered to and taking action when they aren't.

5.Ensuring continuity of supply of all products. Taking action when supply is threatened.

6.Working with shipping companies to ensure smooth transition of goods, to ensure agreed delivery dates are met, and passage through customers (as appropriate) is timely.

7.Ensure forecasting, and therefore purchasing volumes, reflect both what we sell and plan to sell.

8.Source, order and negotiate prices and terms for ad hoc and miscellaneous products. Ensure this is done in a timely manner to allow sales teams to provide quotations and product details to their customers.

9.Periodically review the existing range of products to ensure it is fit for purpose, and is in line with customer demand (respond quickly to changes in customer demand). Work with the sales teams to receive product feedback and respond accordingly, thus ensuring the products we sell are of a high quality and fit for purpose.

10.Ensure a rigorous testing procedure is followed before the introduction of any new products.

11.Ensure (as appropriate) that a supplier assessment/due diligence process is carried out before new suppliers are engaged.

12.To actively seek out (and make Directors in the group aware) new products and new innovations.

Qualifications/experience/skills required:



Buyer with at least 5 years' experience preferably in the automotive aftermarket or a similar environment

Excellent communicator both verbal and written

Strong computing skills, especially word, excel and PowerPoint

Experience of using ERP or similar software

Experience of managing a small team

Previous sales/purchase forecasting experience

Confident and strong negotiator

Experience of managing multiple global suppliers and shippers

Proactive and commercial

The role is site based working 08.30am-5:00pm Monday - Friday from our Kirkby In Ashfield site - NG17 9GU.
