Job Description

Our instrument manufacturing client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer to join them at their Livingston facility. Our client is at an exciting phase where they are developing new products to grow the business for the future\xe2\x80\xa6

The Senior Buyer will work within the Procurement Team and be responsible for supporting the R&D Team and will be responsible for sourcing materials and services for all new projects and designs. They will work closely with their colleagues in R&D and Manufacturing to understand their requirements and find the best sourcing solutions for critical key components.

The Senior Buyer will:

• Lead on materials strategic procurement projects
• Monitor purchase orders and delivery schedules to meet production demand
• Source new suppliers, select and negotiate to acquire material and services in a cost-effective and timely manner
• Manage key suppliers performance through quarterly business reviews and evaluate performance
• Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Perform financial analysis such as NPV, ROI or Total Cost evaluations
• Ensuring suppliers adhere to & perform to SLA conditions and contract terms.
• Work closely with suppliers and R&D colleagues to resolve quality issues

Experience and knowledge required for the role:

• Proven purchasing experience within electronics or medical device manufacturing environment (other manufacturing industries will be considered)
• Established Senior Buyer and is able to demonstrate good Procurement practices.
• Experience in using ERP systems
• Strong negotiating, influencing and problem-solving skills
• Experience of building strong supplier relationships and managing performance
• Able to professionally communicate and present at a senior level
• Comfortable working autonomously, prioritising multiple projects to meet deadlines
• Problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to resolve issues with Suppliers
