Responsibilities:

• Implement the buying strategy for your assigned IT product area, ensuring a comprehensive range of products.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers, utilising your negotiation skills to secure favourable pricing and terms, and source lucrative deals to drive sales.
• Develop and execute category plans and strategies that align with overall business objectives.
• Take ownership of the profit and loss (P&L) for your product area, including managing marketing spend, vendor income, carriage, and gross profit from stock sales.
• Stay up to date with market trends and competitor analysis to identify gaps and capitalize on opportunities.
• Continuously analyse and review product sales and margins, conducting regular budget reviews to maximize profitability.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers while managing existing supplier relationships, including visits to factories, and maintaining strong partnerships.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Trading team to ensure comprehensive trading profiles across your category.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

• Expertise in data analysis, excel, and a keen eye for detail to drive targeted and data-driven decision-making.
• A track record of successful category trading and an entrepreneurial, commercially focused mindset.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience working in an eCommerce/e-tail environment.
• Research and analyse market and competitor data to develop suitable plans and strategic objectives.
• Work effectively as a team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with individuals at all levels.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, leveraging your experience in international buying, particularly sourcing products from the Far East.
• Demonstrate a good working knowledge of critical paths for non-UK sourcing.
• Previous experience of line management of a small team is a plus.
