Within the organisation, the Marketing team is Starling's centre of creative excellence, and is responsible for building a high-impact, radically distinctive and culturally relevant brand that has the power to demonstrate our commitment to customers across TV, OOH, social, partnerships and more.

As a Senior Brand Strategist, you will work closely with our director of Brand Strategy and play a crucial role in bringing our brand to life consistently across channels, helping drive a clear brand point of view that deeply resonates with prospective and existing customers.



What you'll do:

STRATEGIC EXCELLENCE:



Push our teams to always put consumers at the heart of our marketing and help build meaningful and effective brand narratives. Work closely with research and insights to solve strategic problems by understanding the attitudes, behaviours and journeys people go through when engaging with the category at large and Starling in particular. Be the champion and owner of great creative briefs that are simple, clear and written through the lens of culture. Provide simple effectiveness frameworks to measure the impact of our creative work. Build cohesive brand ecosystems and messaging structures to maximise visibility and relevance for different audiences. Help build strategic frameworks and systems for internal and external cross-functional partners, with a special eye for high-impact social strategy and content franchise development.

CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT

Help develop conceptual big ideas that align with our overarching brand point of view and have the power to stretch across channels (email, social, content, partnerships, TV, OOH) Partner with in-house and agency creatives to provide inspiration to help our brand break through and stand out in a cluttered category. Partner with our internal social team and brand studio to create stand out creative franchises that deliver our brand point of view in a variety of ways. Collaborate with art directors and copywriters to enforce a consistent visual language and tone of voice that drives distinctiveness and builds our brand world.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



Partner with product and technology professionals, customer engagement specialists and more--to help create a shared vernacular and develop a deep understanding of our brand ethos across the organisation. Partner with our agencies to evaluate our social and content strategies and ensure they are optimised for success. Participate in socialising results in clear, actionable ways to further the strategic vision of the marketing team. Present work to senior creative leadership and executives Evangelise for the power of category-leading brand behaviours across channels to shift perception and drive results.

Requirements:



We are looking for candidates who can work flexibly and fluidly, build trust with others, and see the big picture while keeping an eye on every detail. 7+ years in a Brand strategy role, with a special passion and experience in non-traditional advertising, over-indexing on social strategy, channel consumption behaviours and best practices - either in agency or in-house environments. Experience in Fintech is helpful but not mandatory. Deep craft experience in social executions with a finely tuned ability to develop strategic thinking and transform complex brand needs into simple ways in and single minded strategies. Experience working with influencers and identifying latest platform trends, behaviours, rules, functionalities and optimisation strategies. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations that articulate ideas in a compelling manner to build acceptance and support Experience in developing actionable strategies and tactical content plans across all major digital platforms, and of working against content calendars. Demonstrated experience of working successfully in fast-paced environments with multifunctional groups, both internally and externally. A proactive, 'can do' attitude, quick learner and can handle multiple tasks at once. Confident communicator and can turn a challenging situation around. An inquisitive and analytical mind is key.
