The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We work to promote public confidence in the democratic process and ensure its integrity.
The successful candidate
We are looking for a proactive individual with exceptional attention to detail to work on the development and coordination of high-quality guidance and resources for candidates, parties and campaigners on the laws relating to party and election finance.
You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and as well as part of a collaborative and dynamic team. You will have the motivation and ability to understand existing and new laws relating to party and election finance.
You will have experience of drafting high quality written products, be an excellent communicator and able to distil complex information into clear and accessible formats.
You will also have a good understanding of the UK political system and the sensitivities required to work in an impartial and politically sensitive environment.
The role
As a member of the regulatory support team, you will work closely with the Guidance Manager, to provide support to political parties, campaigners, agents and volunteers. You will play a key role in ensuring our guidance, resources and advice enables the regulated community to campaign with confidence at elections across the UK. This involves using your expertise to improve and modernise our written guidance suite and providing high quality advice. You will raise the profile of our regulatory support service to ensure parties and campaigners understand our commitment to providing them with the right guidance and resources they need to comply with the laws, allowing them to focus their efforts on engaging voters.
This is an exciting time to join the team as the UK Government\xe2\x80\x99s Elections Act 2022 introduced significant changes to the electoral system, including a number of measures that affect parties and campaigners and come into force from November 2023.
