Job Title:Senior Adviser \xe2\x80\x93 Planning and Performance (Maternity Cover)

Part time ( 21.6 hours), Fixed term contract (maternity cover until 6 December 2024)
Location: Hybrid working with a minimum number of days in attendance at our London office in line with the Commission\xe2\x80\x99s policies
Who we are
The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections, and encourages people to register to vote.
This is a fixed term position that includes business partnering; production of quarterly performance reports to the Commission Board and monthly management reports to the Executive Team; supporting the Commission\xe2\x80\x99s Project Management Office (PMO); leading the development of planning and monitoring of business-as-usual work in the organisation; supporting the development of operations plans including identification of team activities and associated risk identifications/assessments/mitigations; and supporting the Planning and Performance Manager in the annual business planning round and the development of Key Performance Measures (KPMs). The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring outstanding audit recommendations are completed by relevant staff.
Role Requirements
Ideally, the candidate will be educated to degree level or with comparable experience. You will be confident providing expert advice to senior management on performance management, project/programme management, risk management and process improvements. You will have experience of performance monitoring and reporting and of developing and delivering KPMs and impact measures. You will have the experience and ability to direct and manage a portfolio of projects. You will be used to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to tight deadlines. You will have excellent written communication skills and a good understanding of the links between financial and business planning.
