Senior Financial Accountant (Financial Reporting & Treasury)
Reports to: Head of Financial Control
Responsibility for: Assistant Accountant - Financial Reporting & Treasury
Location: Croydon (hybrid working with some travel to London Head Office

Your role
Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will take ownership for the treasury and financial controls for the UK region. This is a key role for the region, working closely with the Head of Financial Control to drive process improvement and implement more robust financial controls across the region. Managing one direct report, you will also support with training and developing members of the UK finance team and will support in setting departmental objectives and ensuring these are adhered to.

What impact you can create
Accounting duties:

• Management of various balance sheet reconciliations (including preparing and reviewing)
• Responsibility for the month-end close on SAP (AP, AR, Assets, GL) including ownership of accruals, prepayments and journals
• Corporation Tax - post draft computation numbers from Deloitte tax schedules and reconcile all tax related P&L and balance sheet accounts in SAP to the schedules
• Transfer Pricing template preparation, review and submission
• Quarterly financial submissions to Global
• Preparation of financial statements for all individual entities
• Work as the key point of contact for the audit
• Office for National Statistics: collate data and complete returns

Treasury duties:

• Prepare and submit actual and forecast cash flows
• Input the Global spot and average exchange rates
• Responsibility for payment run check on Citi
• Management of intercompany monthly netting

Project work:

• Involved in the design, testing and implementation of various improvement projects
• Supporting with the implementation of a new ERP system (D365)

What you will bring to the role:

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
• Strong financial controls required and treasury experience preferred
• Previous experience driving change and implementing new processes
• Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing a team however, equally comfortable to performing day to day tasks with good attention to detail
• Knowledge of SAP preferred
• Experience working in the consumer industry preferred but not essential
• Ability to prioritise and multi-task, use own initiative and work autonomously when required
• Positive and ambitious attitude with a willingness to learn
