Teaching Assistant Needed for Child with SEND
We are seeking an experienced and caring teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher, SENCO and other professionals to enable the child to access education successfully.
Duties will include:
- Providing in-class support to facilitate the pupil\'s learning, social interaction and behaviour. Strategies such as structured routines, regular movement breaks and positive reinforcement will be required.
- Working with the child on a 1:1 basis for specific interventions aimed at developing social skills, emotional regulation and self-esteem.
- Assisting the child to engage with classroom activities and relationships. This may involve modifying instructions, breaking down tasks and encouraging social interaction with peers.
- Promoting the child\'s independence and self-help skills.
- Recording observations on the child\'s progress and contributing to multi-agency meetings.
- Accompanying the child on school trips and extra-curricular activities.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs. An understanding of multi-agency working and behavioural strategies is essential. Excellent communication skills, patience and resilience are also needed to undertake this rewarding role.
The position is initially on a fixed-term contract starting as soon as possible. 5 days per week, term-time only. Salary is \xc2\xa390-105 per day.

The successful candidate will be required to:
- Subject to two years of satisfactory references
