Job Title: SEND Support Assistant

Location: Bury

Salary Rate: \xc2\xa380-\xc2\xa390 A Day.

MILK education is currently working for a variety of schools to recruit support SEND staff for the new year of September 2023. The support staff needed will have an interest in helping pupils thrive with special educational needs in a school setting. The role will involve working alongside children and young people aged 4 to 16.

These schools cater for children who have complex needs which include Autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties needs which need to be supported both within the classroom, on a small group and on a 1 to 1 basis. Pupils all have an EHCP, which means you will build an environment that the pupils thrive in and work towards individual goals. Learning adjustment will be planned for them to reach their development needs.

In order to work with children who are SEND you will need to have:

Experience or transferable skills when working with people with SEND.

a fantastic drive to make a positive difference to pupils\xe2\x80\x99 everyday school lives.

Empathy in every situation.

A supportive and patient approach when handling challenges.

Resilience.

The ability and flexibility to work a minimum of 3 days a week.

Hold an enhanced DBS or willing to get a DBS.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

Ensuring pupils are in an environment enables them to thrive as much as possible.

Give guidance and support on a variety of activities.

Creating SEND checklists when evaluating pupils\xe2\x80\x99 progress.

Able to set up a consistent happy routine with pupils.

Being a positive role model for pupils to look up to and ask for help.

Deal with situations calmly and safely using strategies with the teacher.

Communicate clearly with teachers and other staff.
