Who We're Looking For



At Spark Academy, we're on the lookout for dedicated SEN tutors who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. We are looking for qualified SEN teachers who are excited to provide 1:1 tutoring to children and young people with a range of learning needs. This role is ideal for educators who adopt a holistic, creative, adaptable, and trauma-sensitive approach to teaching. Spark aims to improve the educational support for vulnerable young people across the UK. As a tutor with Spark Academy, you'll be part of a supportive team, with SEN Support Specialists available to assist you throughout every placement. About the SEN/SEND Tutor Role



olAs a SEN/SEND tutor at Spark Academy, you will provide tailored Maths and English tuition to a year 11 student, with SEN and SEMH needs, who is working below age related expectations. The venue for tuition will be a local library. This is a part time role ( 6 hours per week), and during the school day. Once you are working with us, we can offer you a variety of other tuition vacancies, too. Our students are referred to us by local authorities and schools and require holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring to support their educational and social-emotional journeys.

Key Responsibilities



Plan and Deliver Engaging Sessions

: Plan and deliver engaging, holistic sessions tailored to each student's needs. Lessons will be mostly in-person.

Tailor Lesson Plans

: Take the stress away with access to a pool of pre-planned lessons that you can personalise to fit each student.

Supportive Learning Environment

: Foster a supportive learning environment to enhance both academic and social-emotional development.

Progress Feedback

: Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on student progress.

Requirements:

Full UK Driving Licence

: Absolute requirement for facilitating in-person sessions.

Flexible to drive

Experience:

of teaching from the British National Curriculum

Professional Teaching Qualifications

: QTS/QTLS. (Desirable)

Experience

: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, with a background in working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, and/or SLD students. (Desirable)

References: Two professional references.

Worker Engagement

: Engage as a Worker providing short-term engagements via a contract for service.
