Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our team at clubSENsatinal Ltd. The ideal candidate will have experience in sports coaching and a strong commitment to teaching swimming techniques and water safety to individuals with autism and learning difficulties. If you do not have experience working with individuals with learning difficulties but are passionate, eager to learn, and keen to make a difference, we can provide internal training to help you gain this valuable experience. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants.

Times and Dates:



Monday and Wednesday: from 16:30 -18:30

Duties:



Deliver swimming lessons specifically for individuals with autism and learning difficulties, adapting to their individual needs and abilities. Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that focus on improving swimming techniques, water safety, and overall fitness, tailored to the needs of each child. Use creative and flexible teaching methods, including visual aids, structured routines, and clear communication, to engage children and ensure they benefit from the lessons. Monitor the progress of each swimmer, providing constructive feedback and adjusting lesson plans to suit their development and needs. Maintain a safe and clean pool environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while supporting each swimmer's comfort and security. Communicate effectively with swimmer and their guardians, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to lesson plans. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in swim instruction for children with autism and learning difficulties.

Skills:



Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching swimming, particularly with individuals who have autism and learning difficulties, is highly desirable. Strong understanding of autism and the unique learning needs of individuals with autism and learning difficulties. Ability to adapt teaching methods and lesson plans to meet the specific needs of the swimmer, using visual aids, structured routines, and clear instructions to aid understanding. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to use clear language, visual aids, and other strategies to engage children and their families. Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm, with a positive attitude towards supporting children with additional needs. Strong organisational skills to manage personalised lesson plans and track individual student progress. Knowledge of water safety protocols and first aid/CPR certification is an advantage. If you do not have experience with individuals with learning difficulties but are passionate, keen to learn, and eager to be involved, we offer internal training to gain this experience.
