If you desire a fulfilling career and the chance to work alongside an inspirational team that truly makes a positive impact, this is your opportunity to join our Self Harm Network in Scotland.
Penumbra began to develop a specific support service for young people who self-harm around 25 years ago. Today, we remain one of a few organisations that has specific services for people who self-harm. Currently we provide services for people across Scotland, delivering both face-to-face support and a variety of virtual support options.
We have developed a training programme that provides informative and engaging education to increase knowledge and awareness of self-harm, and to help reduce stigma and increase support for anyone affected by self-harm. We have currently provided training to over 400 individuals, and we are committed to continuing to expand and grow our training offer and opportunities.
We have secured funding from the Scottish Government to further develop this work so that we can deliver a programme of support, resources and education that will inform future planning for self-harm support. This is an exciting opportunity to play a role in work of significance and impact, the learning from which will help shape the Scottish Government\'s planned self-harm strategy, and action plan.
As a Training Facilitator, you\'ll make a difference to people\'s lives every day. In this varied role you will work with our Practice Development Lead to deliver informative and engaging self-harm training and awareness sessions to a variety of people, including third sector and statutory organisations, parents, carers and loved ones, and people who are self-harm themselves. You will raise awareness of self-harm and the stigma surrounding the issue through informative resources and workshops and share feedback to aid in the development of the training offered by the service.
We want you to grow and thrive! We will support you on your own career path; developing new skills, accessing formal and informal learning experiences and providing opportunities to put your continual progress into practice.
