Job Summary

At our world class facility near Edinburgh, the Crop Metabolism & Field Residues department has an exciting career opportunity for a 12 month fixed term contract as a Scientific Associate.

The role would primarily research the metabolism of agrochemicals in a wide variety of crop species grown outdoors and in glasshouses, at Edinburgh and North Spain, using radiolabelling techniques.

Primary duties would include sample collection and analysis involving sample extraction and a variety of chromatography methods. Other tasks would include crop cultivation and involvement in radiochemical applications. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the BioSciences Division, experience with other study types may be involved.

You should ideally possess an Honours degree or equivalent in chemistry or a life science subject with a chemistry related component. Experience in analytical techniques (e.g. sample processing and chromatography) would be an advantage although is not essential since training will be provided.

The salary for this role will be \xc2\xa326,244.91 and advertising closes Tuesday, 29 August.
