Job Description

Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1500 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils and flexi-boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Technician for a fixed term of 6 weeks starting in September 2023. Core hours would be 9:00 to 15:00 on weekdays during term time although relevant experience of servicing science in a school context is key, so terms and conditions could be a point of discussion at interview. Depending on circumstances this position could be extended up until Christmas.

The role entails sharing responsibility for the day-to-day running of the technical support to a busy and thriving Science Faculty, helping in any department as the need arises. With recently upgraded prep rooms and science labs there is a lot of scope to set up and service a variety of experiments to support Second Form (Year 8) to Upper Sixth (Year 13) IGCSE, A Level and IB courses. As part of our technical support team you will work alongside the science technician team, whilst being line managed by the Team Leader Technician and the Head of Science.
