Outspoken Training aims to encourage people to cycle by equipping them with the skills and confidence to ride more.
We offer innovative, life-changing and fun cycle training along with instructor qualifications, to inspire more people to build cycling into their everyday lives.
We run training in many different locations; in Cambridgeshire, we are looking for instructors who can travel to schools in and around we are looking for instructors who can travel to schools in and around central Peterborough, Parnwell, Yaxley, Stilton, Wisbech and Whittlesey as well as other locations. You can specify the distance you are willing to travel.
What we need:
Thanks to continued growth and the popularity of our training, we are looking for additional staff who will thrive in offering a variety of cycling courses. These will range from playground-based balance bike, learn to ride and bike handling training through to on-road residential and urban training as well as led rides.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside a small, enthusiastic local team who share your passion for inspiring the next generation of cyclists. Seeing the pupils progress and gain confidence throughout courses is immensely enjoyable and rewarding.
As a Living Wage employer, instructors are employed on variable hours contracts with holiday pay and the option of a company pension. Hours are agreed in advance giving individuals the flexibility to work around other work commitments, the school run, studying and/or retirement projects. We also contribute towards travel costs.
We provide a fully funded, Ofqual accredited, Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training qualification and NSPCC safeguarding training. We also heavily subsidise First Aid training. This is supported by free annual continuing professional development (CPD) training which we pay employees to attend.

If you have additional availability, then once fully qualified, work is also available on weekends and during school holidays.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Plan fun, exciting and progressive sessions.
- Work in pairs to deliver energetic, fast paced, and progressive sessions.
- Maximise riding time and opportunity for pupils to cycle.
- Ride with groups of pupils between sites.
- Work outdoors in a variety of off and on-road environments.
- Look after the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils.
- Reflect on own performance to continuously adapt and improve practice.
- Complete course paperwork, including checking registers, checking consent forms, course outcomes, etc.
- Conduct risk assessments of clients, bicycles and training sites, including on and off-road locations.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with pupils, school staff, parents and clients.
- Give advice on any relevant cycling matters.
- Report all course information and feedback promptly to the office team.
Applicants will need to be regularly available for 4 (Monday to Thursday) or 5 days (Monday to Friday) in school term time with the flexibility to work variable hours per day between 9.00am and 3.15pm
You will enjoy cycling either for leisure or as a form of transport and be keen to pass this on to children in a range of year groups.
