Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sawmill Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating machinery and performing various tasks related to the processing of timber. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Sawmill Worker will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality wood products.

Duties

Operate and maintain sawmill machinery, including saws and other power tools. Assemble and fabricate wood products according to specifications. Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of timber and materials as required. Use hand tools effectively for various tasks, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Assist in warehouse duties, including inventory management and organisation of materials. Collaborate with team members to meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Experience

Previous experience in a sawmill or similar manufacturing environment is preferred but not essential. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and safe handling practices. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools effectively is highly desirable. A commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work is essential.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
