The Team
Our French language publishing team looks after all commercial and operational activities related to Usborne\'s French publishing programme and liaises between our French distributor, our in-house French editorial team as well as our production department to ensure that all French editions of Usborne books get to the market as planned.
The Role
We are looking for a pro-active and highly organised individual to join the team. This is a busy and varied role where you will be involved in a wide range of activities in support of the team:
Preparing sales presentations and marketing and promotional materials, including catalogues and sales documentation.
Ensuring our internal and our distributor\'s databases remain up to date with the correct book details such as pricing, formats and book covers.
Improving the quality and accuracy of existing book details, to ensure books are as easy to discover as possible at online retailers e.g Amazon.
Preparing sales and costing data for reprints within Excel.
Managing and responding to general enquiries from our French customers in a timely fashion.
Other administrative activities in support of the team\'s operations.
Experience
This is an entry level role and whilst we are not looking for specific publishing experience a passion for children\'s publishing and our books is a must.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Native or native-level proficiency in French and English, demonstrating a confident grasp of grammar in both languages.
A meticulous eye for detail ensuring accuracy when working on a wide variety of projects.
An ability to prioritise, juggle and manage multiple projects independently, demonstrating excellent time-management skills.
Excellent and confident communication skills when liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders both in the UK and France.
A good working knowledge of Office 365 with a good working knowledge of Excel being required.
Location and Benefits
We offer a 35-hour working week from our offices in Farringdon, London. After a short initial induction period, we offer a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home which we feel optimises our opportunities for collaboration and contact with our colleagues.
