Are you a driven and results-oriented sales professional with a passion for the Defence sector? Our client, a leading Defence IT Consultancy based in Portsmouth, is expanding its team and looking for a Business Development Sales Account Manager with experience of a soft s sales approach.
In this role, you'll play a key part in growing the business, developing strong client relationships and exceeding sales targets. If you have a proven track record in business development, account management and new business generation within the Defence industry, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do:
Achieve & Exceed Sales Targets - Consistently meet and surpass revenue goals through strategic account management and proactive business development.
Develop Client Relationships - Act as the primary contact for customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term engagement.
Grow the Business - Identify and convert new business opportunities, expanding your sales pipeline and fostering strong relationships.
Account Management - Maintain and grow existing accounts by providing tailored solutions and excellent customer service.
Stay Ahead of Industry Trends - Keep up-to-date with new technologies, products, and market developments in the Defence sector.
Collaborate & Communicate - Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and technical departments, to drive success.
Maintain CRM & Reporting - Keep accurate and detailed records of client interactions, ensuring all activities align with business objectives.
Requirements for the role:
You will be a
Veteran
with commercial experience preferably gained in the defence and security sector in a business development or an equivalent capacity.
You will be a relationship and partnership builder with a strategic mindset and a track record that demonstrates this with a softer sales approach - Relationship-first approach - Consultative approach to sales, adept at networking, sourcing leads, building a pipeline and converting into business.
Ideally you will have sector and product knowledge in technology around automation, unmanned devices and drones, Training & Simulation, or Combat systems systems.
